Welcome To Your Turn

Welcome to the latest edition of the Your Turn newsletter. Much has happened since our last newsletter and we would like to take this opportunity to update you on the coverage and uptake that the campaign is receiving nationally. We would also like to share with you some best practice examples, as well as introduce you to some new tools that are now available to all Trusts.

Your Turn in the Media

Since our last newsletter we have had two heavy weight articles appear in Wounds UK and Modern Government.

Many of you will have seen the article in Wounds UK which spells out where the campaign is currently at as well as outlining the tools that we can offer to Trusts to help launch the campaign within your area. If you would like to read the full article please click here.

Modern Government Magazine is the only magazine targeting director level decision makers across Government and the public sector. The full page article in this publication talked about the objectives of the campaign, our successes to date and details on how to get involved. If you would like to read the full article please click here.

Talking Leaflets Now Available for Patients

Your Turn has worked in assocaiton with Talking Leaflets to produce patient information about pressure sore prevention that is available in 10 languages over the phone. This service is being made available to Trusts across the UK at a subsidised low cost. For more information on this service click here

New Assessment Tool To Be Developed

The campaign is currently looking into producing an assessment tool that will be able to be used by any healthcare professional. The idea of this will be that it will operate on a traffic light system to enable anyone to assess the needs of a patient from a tissue viability point of view. It is hoped that this will enable more members of a healthcare team to affectively know when it is necessary to call in the services of the tissue viability team. If you are interested in helping us to develop this tool please contact Claire James at info@your-turn.org.uk

Your Turn in Action

Louise Morris, Tissue Viability Nurse at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust shares her story of using the Your Turn campaign locally in this month's blog. Click  here to find out about their progress.

If you have your own examples of Your Turn in practice and would like to share them with us and other Tissue Viability Nurses please contact the campaign at info@your-turn.org.uk
